On Friday evening officers from the civil defense force along with Banglamung District Officials organized a checkpoint just outside of the offices of Sophon Cable TV in Central Pattaya.

They were in search of drivers and passengers who were consuming or possessing class 1 drugs.

Over 30 officers were involved and randomly pulled-over mainly motorbikes who, they thought, contained individuals who were likely to be somehow involved in illegal drugs.

Roadside presumptive drug tests took place on a selection of individuals and the team took some encouragement from the fact that no test failures occurred which means no arrests were made during the entire operation.

And mean while theres more drugs and junkies than you can poke a stick at along beach road but no checkpoints down there ???

  • IanB

Do they make people pee right there on the road?

  • Ghostrider

LOL. That would be too easy, Yowyeh. then the coppers might have to address the jetski mafia and then there goes the Tea Money and the new motorbike for the Mia Noi.

  • Wally

    They pee right there anyway.

  • Paul England

It would be good to have confirmed that these people actually have the same rights as police to pull you over and conduct these tests.

  • Pip

They dont have any powers to do this but this is Thailand so they do what they want unless you are “someone” then they do nothing.
