Police Colonel Suwan, the Pattaya Police Chief led a group of 20 Police Officers and Police Volunteers on an early morning mission to the main entertainment areas of South Pattaya with the task of rounding up as many transsexuals as possible who, the Colonel says, are the main group responsible for tourist-related crimes in the Pattaya area.

The group of officers visited Walking Street and the Bali Hai Port and were made to work for their arrests as many of the transsexuals attempted to escape down alleyways to avoid the inevitable fine of 100 Baht.

Some were able to escape but 40 of the transsexuals were arrested and taken to Pattaya Police Station just before 5am at the conclusion of the operation, where they were relieved of 100 Baht each and then sent on their way with a warning. As usual they all returned to where they were collected from to presumably continue with their nightly task of seeking out foreign tourists who require their services.

‘Dudes’ look like ladies….. from an extreme distance.

  • That’s stupid!

FR#CKING idiots think a 100 baht fine and a “warning” is a deterrent. That’s just stupid!

Removing 40 out of thousands from the streets for the night wouldn’t even be noticeable.

Make it 5,000 baht with 7 days in the monkey house and watch 1000′s of the katoeys quickly disappear.

Time you had your long distance eyesight tested while you,ll in town.
Good excuse though , reasonable quality glasses are available in Pattaya suggest you make an appointment with a Doctor as soon as possible.

I think half of Pattaya`s bar scene would close down and we would all just be looking at each with a beer in hand having a cry saying “WHY BUT WHY DID I MAKE THAT NEGATIVE POST WHICH THE MAYOR TOOK NOTICE OF AND ACTIONED”. Probably a little far fetched I know, but it wont be around for much longer of this stretch of bar when the developers flatten it. Not that I partake in LB company but in general what would be LOS without them… I think may be less colorful…. Sure the coconut bar is a bit over the top with LB`s and agree that this area should be cleaned up to get rid of the bad apples.. Especially the intended thieves for gold and wallets.

  • Jake

“”"what would be LOS without them…”"”

about 2million stray dogs and 5million bad drivers away from a safe place to live.

  • Michael

seems they are still on a high… and what a laugh.. Baht 100

  • gwats1957

When I said ‘extreme distance,’ I meant the surface of the moon. No one would ever mistake these scary things for the ‘real deal.’

  • Bernie

    Nice comment there Lady lover

  • Tony

    Leave the ladyboys alone!!!

  • soidog

As usual the ladies are still joking,There is no point in fining them heavily as they cant or wont
pay, monkey house COSTS MONEY! who is going to pay for their incarceration ,which would be
pointless anyway, they will not be rehabilitated. They are part of the fun, lifes rich pageant. They need
    more customers.

  • Bruce

Good attempt at a throw off but to late tootie fruit!

  • Rob

Yeah sure, after a few lashes from a bullwhip, that’ll sure work better than a lousy 100 baht fine!

  • cippan

So they were arrested by the police only because they were transsexual.

What is the next step, there are a lot of white old men with the intention of using prostitutes, let’s arrest them all.

  • cw

Just tell them to act like normal girls in Pattaya.
And be honest, telling their customer their real sex before the act.
I think some of them can provide real good service.

  • xbox

I think they add to the fun of Pattaya……I say that because a lot of blokes start laughing when they walk past the bar….

  • trevor

the article is right.they are responsible for most of the pickpocketing and druggings.b.t.w.its just an occupional hazard when they re dragged in.hit them with a much bigger fine and if they won t pay it get their families in issan involved in paying it.that would hurt the weirdo s

  • Lincoln

There just boys who want to be girls and rob farangs now whats wrong with that ? its Pattaya life as we know it.

  • londonchris

1000 baht fine and keep the initiative up over a prolonged period would discourage them, but I suspect that it is only 100 baht and periodic raids as the will is not really there to get rid of the pests but just to provide headlines that make it look like they are doing something. Not sure who the relly think they are kidding with this.

  • frankie thundeer

GWATS, I REALLY HATE TO SAY THIS BUT—,A COUPLE LOOK KIND OF CUTE FROM WHERE IM SITTING—OF COARSE IM BACK STATESIDE RIGHT NOW…HA HA

  • frankie thundeer

JAKE,,,PATTAYA WOULD BE BORING WITHOUT THEM….IM NOT STICKING UP FOR THEM OR WANT ANY PART OF THEM BUT IM HOPING THE 1 OR 2 CUTE ONES ARE THE REAL LADYS….

  • frankie thundeer

    HA HA ..GOOD ONE J.KNIGHTS

  • gwats1957

You know, Frankie, my wife was looking over my shoulder when I opened that page. She’s from the P.I., and when I told her they were transsexuals, not real girls, she remarked that they look better than the hordes of fat, poorly dressed girls wandering around our US City. I was forced to agree, but they couldn’t pass the smell test ‘up close’!

  • J.KNIGHTS

Believe me Frankie even the cute ones are guys, remember getting fooled by one on beach road. In fact she was on the news on this site after she and her friend fooled a couple of young Russian guys and a fight broke out in the hotel. LOl

It is an affront to Justice to just “round up” a group of people who have not actually committed a crime and extort 100 baht from them.
Certainly, if any particular ladyboy committed a crime they should be prosecuted and punished. But where is the outrage at the injustice of these unlawful arrests that are without merit?
It is not a crime to be a transexual.
This is just plain wrong. And laugh and mock all you want. But when there is injustice it is only a matter of time before they come for YOU.

  • Don

Thanks Bernie,,,, I had changed my handle for the appropriate reason… Kind Regards, Don….

The law needs to be modified with subsequent fine increases everytime they’re arrested. 100 first, 500 second, 1000 third offense for example. Since they’re identified when arrested it shouldn’t be difficult to determine how many violations each arrestee has. Add some aggressive sweeps and they’ll see the numbers diminish.
I know…this makes sense and as most of us know not much makes sense in Thailand.
