2 Turks drugged and robbed from their North Pattaya Hotel rooms

Two Turkish friends on holiday in Pattaya were drugged and robbed on Monday.

Police were called to the Riviera Resort in Soi 16/1 off the Naklua Road on Monday afternoon after hotel cleaners found the two room occupants unconscious on their beds. There was clear evidence of a disturbance in both rooms and it was determined that both room safes had been stolen.

The victims, Mr. Almet aged 51 and Mr. Nihat of the same age were staying in adjoining rooms connected by a door which was unlocked. Eventually they regained consciousness and told Police that they had met two Thai women at the Dolphin Roundabout in North Pattaya and decided to take them back to their rooms. Before they got to the hotel they stopped at a convenience store and purchased two bottles of Green Tea. It is though both were laced with sleeping tablets when they got back to the rooms which rendered them unconscious.

Equipment used to remove the room safes from the wardrobes were left behind and crucially the resort did not keep copies of the Thai ID cards of the two women which leaves Police with the difficult task of recovering the stolen items which reportedly includes 40,000 US Dollars, 100,000 Baht and two mobile phones.

    40,000$ 100,000 Bht??? B/S Are tourists from Turkey even allowed to bring that much into Thailand. Sounds like an insurance scam to me. It should be the two Turks that the police need to investigate and the hotel staff that we backing up the story.

    At that hotel the standard rooms are 920 baht a night and 2 br suites are 2519 baht a night. These guys might as well have said it was $400,000 USD. Or even $1 million.

    If they brought that much cash into Thailand legally, they should have declared it upon entry. $40 Grand? If I was going to bring that much cash in, I’d wire it ahead to a local bank from my home Country. Either the cash was dirty, or it never existed. Door no. 2.

    The little room safes weigh about the same as a biscuit tin,and are less secure.
    I reckon it was more like $4 , picking up street women..LOL i hope it makes the papers

    Something smells fishy here. 40 Grand and another 100,000 baht? First, how did they get that amount of cash into the country? Second, any rational person would have left the cash on deposit at the bank and used a debit card when necessary. Third, no one should keep more than 2,000 dollars in their direct possession when on holiday in any country.

    Thai Embassy site for Canada states anything over $20 K you must report to Customs, bet the same rule applies to Turk nationals, This may be a case of Karma.

    So how come 2 ‘ladies’ managed to leave the hotel unnoticed with 2 heavy safes under their arms? They are probably still hidden in another room, probably on the same floor!

    Pick them up on the street,no comeback when they clean u out,better off Trawling for one in a bar,then any dramas,u know what bar they are from,no i/d at reception,stupid mistake,if they were not willing to do this,i would have showed them the door out of the hotel,let me guess cctv camera not work?? more like 4,000 dollars.

    Well, this ‘tree of knowledge’ has made 12 visits to the LOS, and has never been drugged or robbed in my Hotel room. Any percentage of that cash they needed in US currency could have been obtained in greenbacks, as most of the U.S. currency in circulation is outside of the USA.

    To right kevin alot of mugs around are so tight they are unwilling to pay a bar fine so they find these cheap trollops on beach road and end up paying one way or another alot more.
