Foreigner falls to his death from high floor at Jomtien Beach Hotel

Just after daybreak on Wednesday, Officers from Dongtan Police Station on Jomtien Beach were called to the Furama Jomtien Beach Hotel to investigate reports of a foreigner falling from a high floor.

Officers arrived and inspected the body of the man, who was wearing only boxer shorts. His name or nationality could not be determined but he did have a tattoo of a cartoon wolf on his arm and was carrying a mobile phone which is now being analyzed for clues as to who he is and why he fell. Police believe him to be of middle-eastern origin and aged between 40 and 45.

A forensic Doctor arrived at the scene and confirmed he had fallen from a high floor due to the extent of trauma sustained to him. The victim could not initially be identified by Hotel Staff. It is also thought he fell at around 10pm the previous night as a loud thud was heard by security guards who decided not to investigate. He went undiscovered until a Hotel Cleaner found the body close to the Swimming Pool area at daybreak.

Police are hoping to identify the man as soon as possible and determine if he is a guest at the hotel or not.

    Being cashed up is a advantage for sure when living as a tourist or expat in Pattaya but with all the partying ,loose women ,drinking ,and late nights, you can see why alot of the expat blokes have such rough heads ,and end up broke throwing to much money around trying to impress the bar and gogo girls and attempting to retire to early.

    That’s true, but it’s more ‘in your face’ in Pattaya then any other place I’ve ever visited. If you’re watching this, from a bar stool, it’s quite entertaining, if it’s being done to you, it’s not quite as fun.

    It’s not an obsession it’s merely a fact of life observation, certainly more so in Pattaya, Bangkok and Phuket and more accurate that your idealistic views. I also understand more about the Thai culture than you seem to think and probably travelled more in Thailand that you ever have.

    Apart from the occasional early evening couple of hours in TQ’s, I can’t honestly remember the last time I was in ago go bar and only been in Walking St. twice in the last 4 months. Just because you spend all your time whoring, doesn’t mean everyone else does!! There are other things to spend your money on!

    Rob, you have a valid point but I think we all can agree
    that the girl’s game in Pattaya is a wee bit more transparent and at a fraction
    of the true monetary cost than other places.

    We have both known Mr. gwats for years and other than being
    a liberal I hold nothing against him. I do not see what he said could be that disturbing
    to commenters.

    I think his word “degraded” could be debated but not within
    his intended context.

    The method, expense or experience of the hunters does not detract from their end goal. I hope we are not going to put lipstick on a pig and call it pretty.

    Yes, we have heard from the expats that love the sweet pure ocean water, the perfumed air of Pattaya and it being a great place to raise kids but you are too reasonable for that argument.

    I don’t care if people are talking go-go bars, whore houses, maids in houses, “special kind help” for the “unfortunates” (common name for 19th century hookers) it all comes down to predators and prey. I am not sure if it has been
    established which sex is the predators and prey.

    AT the end of the day just have fun,it’s not a safari park where you go hunting like you describe or imply and predators and all that garbage no wonder there’s so many screwed up units jumping off buildings ,pay and play and remember be happy.

I’m writing a novel based on the decline of the west (mainly France) and am setting the 2nd part in Thailand, which I know well.
