Khun Itipon, the mayor of Pattaya, chaired a meeting in a big room at City Hall on Friday which was attended by representatives of all 31 communities around the city as well as officials from the National Housing Authority and architects from the Rajamangala Technology University of Thanyaburi. The mayor said the Rajamangala university people would be undertaking a comprehensive survey of every Pattaya community in coming weeks with the aim of determining what areas of the city are being over-utilised and what other areas are prime for further development. The aim is to try and achieve a comprehensive understanding of urban growth in Pattaya and identify areas requiring closer attention from City Hall in terms of local utilities, policing, emergency services and the like.
