In the early hours of Monday Morning, Sattahip Police assisted by local rescue workers were called to the scene of a serious hit-and-run road accident on the Sukumvit Road close to the Udom-Sak Village. The crash involved a motorbike driven by Khun Prapot aged 19 and a black car which failed to stop at the scene of the crash. Witnesses mentioned that the victim, who sustained broken legs and a broken arm and suspected internal injuries, was initiating a u-turn maneuver. The black car was approaching at speed and hit the victim with considerable force. He was dragged underneath the car for a time before coming to a stop on the road. The driver of the black car, decided not to stop and proceeded on in the direction of Sattahip. It was known that the car had come out from a nearby restaurant and according to staff there, the driver had been drinking heavily throughout the night. A description of the driver was given to Police who are now searching for him as a matter of urgency. The motorbike driver’s condition is described as extremely serious and he underwent surgery on Monday to repair his broken legs.
