A German resident of Pattaya who was devastated at the recent death of his Son, attempted to take his own life at his East Pattaya home on Thursday afternoon. Police and rescue services were called to the house in Chockchai Village 4 in Soi Neun Plub Wan, occupied by Mr. Manfred Bernd Chudasch aged 69. He had a self-inflicted knife wound, measuring 20cm in length across his stomach and had prepared a noose in his bathroom. It is believed he was prevented from killing himself by his house-keeper who arrived just-in-time. Mr. Chudasch was known to be in a deep depression following the death of his son Mr. Timo Chudasch aged 44 at the same house on 4th July. Mr. Chudasch was taken to Hospital and the German Embassy in Bangkok are now providing assistance to him.

I remember this sad case about the suicide of his son. I hope the house is being paid for because I remember the son couldn’t take care of his father. Better go back home.

  • Observing

Yes Peter I remember that, very sad. Looks like he’s being taken care of now by the embassy.

  • Peter de Vries

Well, if the are like the Dutch Embassy, he better move back. The Dutch Embassy only helps you in terms of calling a family member so they can wire money.

Agree with Peter – I guess he feels guilty as well about his sons death because if it wasnt for him moving to sin city then his son my still be alive.
