A Singaporean, accused of stealing money from a Thai woman, was arrested by Pattaya Police on Walking Street in the early hours of Sunday. The original theft of the money occurred on 30th July and was reported at the Police Station by the alleged victim Khun Nongluck aged 20 who advised Police that the amount of 7,000 Baht in cash and an IPhone 4S was stolen which were contained inside her shoulder-bag. She had met the man earlier in the evening. Mr. Leon Ricko aged 23, who claimed he was a wealthy Japanese businessman, suggested the pair go out for the evening together in his car. Khun Nongluck agreed to accompany him and at the end of the evening she left the car for a moment to purchase something at a 24 hour convenience store . As she left the car, the doors were locked and Mr. Ricko drove off. On Sunday, he was spotted by the victim on Walking Street and she called the Police who came to arrest him. On Sunday he was found to be carrying 70,000 Baht in cash inside his trouser pocket which was seized by Police pending further investigations into the origin of the cash. The case continues.

    Glad they caught him.

I suspect that somewhere on the island of Honshu sits a Japanese businessman reading this story and realizing where he has been played.

    “Glad they caught him”

Why?…Do you think she is any less of a thief and con-artist than he is?

“Why?…Do you think she is any less of a thief and con-artist than he is?”
Because he stole the money, and no accusations against her, Sherlock

  • Jake

    @Chris…..when she lies, she steals,
when her lips move she lies

  • Observing

Exactly Chris. Nowhere in the article can any one logically assume that somehow she “stole” or “conned” anything. It was HER shoulder bag contents that were stolen.

    Amazing, these Pattaya “experts” here.

  • J.KNIGHTS

Wonder how much of that 70,000 Baht he’ll get back.LOL

  • Jake

@Observing…although there are plenty of pretty non-sex-industry (read:regular thais) girls from Bangkok and other parts of Thailand, who do come to Pattaya to holiday, (I know plenty from my Bangkok neighborhood) none, and I mean zero would ever go out alone there with a man they just met…particularly a foreigner. Its ironic that you often chastise others for talking trash about thais…it seems in this case you have done so yourself albeit inadvertently through your own ignorance of thais…..if the only non-pattaya bar stool time you spend while in LOS is the trip to and from the airport you will continue to be prone to these errors in cultural nuance.

she got lucky spotting the suspect in walking street.

@Jake. You must not know many regular Thai women then, because I have gone out with and dated plenty of them ALONE before and since I have been living in Pattaya. Only once has a girl requested to bring her friend along, and the friend was a ladyboy. I declined and we parted ways.

@Adam….I would have to see what you are calling “regular” Thai women….I suspect our definition is far from the same.

  • Adam

Same as yours: “non-sex-industry (read:regular thais) girls from Bangkok and other parts of Thailand”
