Pedestrian killed as he crosses main road in Banglamung  |

Just after 1am on Friday, Police Lieutenant Colonel Tanadaert from Banglamung Police Station was called in to investigate a fatal road accident which had just occurred on the Sukumvit Road in Lompok sub-district. The accident involved a pedestrian and a Silver Toyota Pick-up driven by Khun Wunchai aged 25. The dead pedestrian was not carrying any forms of identification but is thought to be aged over 50. Khun Wunchai was questioned by Police and he revealed that due to the time of day and lack of traffic on the road he was driving at speed and could not avoid a collision with the pedestrian who was attempting to cross the Sukumvit Road. The driver claimed that poor street lighting meant he did not see the victim, however Police believe that his excessive speed was the main cause and he was placed under arrest and later charged with reckless driving causing death at Banglamung Police Station.

As excessive speed ( apart from drunk droving) is the cause of many accidents can anybody tell me what the speed limits are.
