One dead and many injured following road crash just outside of Pattaya

Companies who provide outdoor catering facilities for parties such as weddings or other celebrations are known in Thai as “Dor Geen” and will often work long hours and travel across the country from one event to another. Just before 4.30 on Saturday, Police and Rescue Services were called to the scene of a fatal road accident which occurred on the Sukumvit Road in the Na-Jomtien area involving a pick-up full of catering materials and employees. The driver of the pick-up was Khun Prayoon aged 22, who sustained a broken collar bone during the crash. He accepted that he fell asleep at the wheel and was following a white truck which was also full of tables and chairs. The pick-up fell into the central reservation and Chief Petty Officer First Class Non, the main chef and brother of the company owner was thrown from the back of the pick-up and pronounced dead-at-the-scene.
