On Monday Afternoon we made our way to the front of a convenience store located in the Sattahip District area after a local fisherman had discovered an unexploded bomb off the coast of Samaer San, some 80 nautical miles from the coastline. Remarkably the fisherman decided to take the bomb to a store close to his home to seek advice about what to do with it. Local Government Officials were called in and told locals to take the bomb to a remote forest and then call the Royal Thai Navy Bomb Disposal Unit to come and pick it up. Officers arrived and were amazed that the fisherman had removed the bomb from the water and put lives in danger by transporting it to shore. It was identified as a submarine torpedo which is thought to have been on the sea-bed for at least 4 years. It was confirmed that the torpedo was live. It was taken away by the Navy Officials who advised the group never to touch an explosive device in the future but to leave it “in situ” and call the Bomb Disposal Team who will safely remove it and destroy it. The fisherman who found the device is Khun Tanagrit aged 50 who told us that he removed the bomb from the water as he thought he was doing other fisherman a favor by removing the dangerous weapon from the water.

Yes i agree,very similar to a ww2 Hedgehog depth charge.
It actually looks a bit like a “Hedgehog” depth charge as used in the Second World War.

@Martin,
Definetly not a depth charge, for your info this is what a depth charge looks like:
Doesn’t look like a torpedo. I would have said a depth charge.
