Just before daybreak on Friday, Pattaya Police were on routine patrol along Pattaya Beach Road when they came across a pick-up truck containing two men and playing very loud music. Earlier the truck had sped past the Police vehicle which alerted them to the vehicle. A stop was made and the two men inside, Khun Wacharin aged 25 and Khun Jatupon aged 32, the passenger was told to exit their vehicle. They were searched and nothing was found, however, in the side compartment on the passenger side of the vehicle was a loaded handgun. Both men, truck drivers from Bang Pra near Chonburi District, were taken to Pattaya Police Station along with their pick-up and were urine tested. Both men failed the test and were charged with possession of an unlicensed handgun and consumption of a class 1 drug, despite claims from the two men that the truck did not belong to them and the owner of the weapon was the truck owner, Khun Doom who is currently being sought by Police.
