Woman killed by jealous boyfriend prior to drunken road crash in Bang Saray

21st April 2010

In the early hours of Wednesday Morning, Sattahip Police along with rescue workers were called to the scene of a road accident on the Beach Road in Bang Saray. The single vehicle accident involved a white Toyota Vios which was being driven by Khun Supit aged 35 who is suspected of being in a drunken state. He had collided with a street pylon and was taken to Hospital suffering from suspected neck and head injuries. In the passenger seat of the car was the body of Khun Biyanart aged 28, the owner of the car. It was determined that she had been killed prior to the crash and two deep puncture wounds were found in her stomach. Police interviewed the badly injured male driver who claimed he was in a relationship with the deceased woman and had become jealous of her good fortune when she recently started a new job and was able to purchase a new car. He feared that she would leave him for another man in the near future and stabbed her following a heated argument. He claimed that he used her car to rush her to Hospital but crashed on the way there because of his intoxicated state. He also claimed that he did not intend to kill her. Police are not convinced by his version of events and are investigating further. For now Khun Supit is facing a charge of murder.

Alcohol is a major problem for Thai behaviour. Serious education is needed at school level. Seems the average Thai cannot tolerate excess alcohol without crazy behaviour.IMO.
