Pattaya Music Festival begins

A press conference was held on Friday morning at the Hard Rock Hotel on Beach Road to announce the start of the 40-million baht Pattaya Music Festival which starts at 6:00pm and goes through until Sunday 21 March. The event was chaired by Pattaya mayor Khun Itipon who gave a short speech outlining the aims of the music festival and then answered questions from the assembled media and other guests. After the speechmaking a number of the performers at the festival were invited on stage and given a variety of gifts. Including keys to the city. The invited performers appear to have been selected on the basis of unusual hairstyles and wardrobes. There are six stages dotted along a 3.4 kilometre stretch of Beach Road down to Bal Hai port with music to suit all but the most unusual of tastes.
