Suspected Drug Dealer caught during undercover operation in Sattahip

The Royal Thai Navy Narcotics Unit are working around the clock at this time with the Sattahip District Administration to suppress crimes relating to illegal drugs which are at alarmingly high levels around Sattahip District and on Tuesday Afternoon we joined a team of officers who conducted an undercover operation with the intention of purchasing drugs using marked bank notes and then arresting the suspected seller. The operation went to plan in Soi Wat Kow Kantamat located on the outskirts of Pattaya  and led to the arrest of Khun Rungiet aged 34 who was in possession of marked bank notes handed  to him by an undercover agent in exchange for 9 Yabba Tablets. The suspect was then escorted to his home where an additional 5 Yabba Tablets were found. The suspected dealer was then taken to Sattahip Police Station where he revealed that he had purchased the drugs from a man, known only as “Nut” from Rayong Province. Furthermore, he revealed that he liked to play football and regularly ingested Yabba to improve his performance. He was charged with serious class 1 drug offences and locked up pending a court appearance.
