Former Thai Marine arrested on suspicion of drug dealing

On Thursday Morning in a joint operation involving the Royal Thai Navy Narcotics Units and Sattahip Administration Officials, a suspected drug dealer was arrested at a house in Soi Kowmorn in Sattahip. Officials monitored the house for some time and intercepted a 16 year old boy leaving the residence who was found to be carrying a single Yabba Tablet. He was ordered to go in again and purchase a further 10 Yabba Tablets. This time he was carrying marked bank notes and as soon as the boy re-appeared, Navy Officers moved in and attempted to arrest the suspected dealer, Khun Boonrort aged 47, a former member of the Thai Marine Corps, who initially resisted arrest but was soon detained. He was later transferred to Sattahip Police Station where he was formally charged with dealing in a class 1 drug and he is currently behind bars pending a court appearance.
