In the early hours of Tuesday Morning, there were dramatic scenes on the Sukumvit Road in Sattahip as members of the public tried desperately to revive a Thai Man who had been involved in a road accident which left him lifeless. The crash involved a Silver Isuzu pick-up driven by Lieutenant Tachapon aged 40 and a motorbike driven by Chief Petty Officer First Class Pishai aged 48 who was given CPR at the scene but was later pronounced dead at Hospital. The Lieutenant, who initially attempted to flee the scene of the accident was soon caught by Police and appeared relaxed about what had just happened. Witnesses saw the pick-up driving towards the center of Sattahip at speed and the motorbike was seen to cut across its path. A collision took place and the motorbike driver was dragged under the truck for some distance, before the pick-up left the scene. Police later charged the Lieutenant with dangerous driving causing death and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

shame if they had a real driving test it might stop this .also get some real traffic cops ok thats it from me….
Another needless death on the roads of Thailand and very sad indeed. It does baffle me however why so often in these cases where people ride their motorbikes across the path of oncoming vehicles that the driver of the oncoming vehicle is charged. In most countries they would not be deemed culpable unless they were either incapable or proven to be speeding or reckless, yet in Thailand this often is the opposite. Still very tragic
