Russian Tourist Dies at Hotel just outside of Pattaya

6th February 2010

On Saturday Morning at Na-Jomtien Police Station, a distraught Russian Tourist reported the death of her Husband at the Ambassador City Hotel located in Na-Jomtien. Mrs. Maria Aristov aged 46, accompanied by a friend, reported the death of her Husband Mr. Alexander Aristov aged 57 in their hotel room after the pair had been out to the Swimming Pool earlier in the morning. Mr. Aristov felt tired and wanted to sleep while his wife went to a local market for shopping. When she returned she was unable to gain access to the room and with the assistance of hotel staff opened the door and discovered Mr. Aristov lying on the bed. His body was taken to the local morgue while Mr. Aristov explained to Police that her Husband was in general poor health and also had an allergy to seafood. She also suggested that exposure to the heat of the sun followed by a return to their air-conditioned room may have caused the death. The exact cause of death will be explored during a post mortem examination which will take place shortly. The Russian Embassy are currently assisting Mrs. Aristov at this time.
