7 year old Boy drowns in reservoir.
A disturbing story now from a Reservoir in Sattahip District. On Thursday Morning, rescue workers assisted by Navy Divers were called to the area to search for a 7 year old boy who had gone missing and was thought to have drowned. After a short search, the body of Deckchai Qiw was recovered from the water as his distraught parents looked on in complete disbelief. The boy’s father refused to accept that his Son had died and attempted CPR and other methods to get his son breathing again. The attempts were unsuccessful and it is thought the boy had been dead for at least 2 hours. He would play with friends in the area on a regular basis and is thought to have lost his shoes in the reservoir. He entered the water in an attempt to retrieve his shoes but was unaware of the depth and subsequently drowned. The body of the 7 year old boy is now with his family who are organizing his funeral at a local Temple.
