Close friend to Senior Government Official shot dead as he drives home.
In the early hours of Thursday Morning, medical staff at the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya admitted a fatally wounded man who had been shot in the face in an incident which occurred in front of a School located in Huoy Yai Municipality. Police Lieutenant Colonel Samai from Banglamung Police Station was assigned to the case and at the Hospital inspected the body of Khun Jai aged 42, a close friend of the Deputy Chairman of the Chonburi Provincial Administration, Khun Raiwat. He was gunned down in front of his Girlfriend, Khun Nongnoot aged 31 who injured her right shoulder and was also hospitalized. She was able to explain to Police that the couple were returning from a funeral party, during which the victim played a popular dice game known as “Hi-Low”. He lost around 5,000 Baht and was seen to have a disagreement with other gamblers. The exact details of the disagreement were not forthcoming. Khun Nongnoot told Khun Jai that it would be better for them to leave. They left and noticed that they were being followed by a Bronze Isuzu pick-up. The truck then pulled in front of the victims’ vehicle and a man on the back of the truck was seen to be armed with a pump-action shot-gun. He then shot at the victim multiple times. Police have a number of possible motives behind the attack and are investigating numerous lines of enquiry at this time as they attempt to catch the killer.
