Indonesian man commits suicide in North Pattaya Hotel Room.
Just after midday on Thursday Police and rescue workers were called to the Pattaya City Hotel located on the North Pattaya Road to investigate an apparent foreign suicide. On the 3rd floor in room number 312, Police inspected the body of Mr. Soebekti aged 66 from Indonesia. He was lying in the bathroom and there was white foam coming from his mouth. The body was discovered by Khun Tantip, a cleaner at the hotel. She discovered the body in the bathroom and he appeared to have planned his own death by filling the room with smoke and starving it of oxygen. There was a towel placed over his mouth which is thought to have contained a liquid which would have rendered the man unconscious prior to death. He took the trouble to seal any gaps in the doors and windows to ensure that the smoke would not be noticed by anyone else. There was no suicide note and no clues as to why the man wanted to take his own life. Indonesian Officials based in Bangkok are now looking into the man’s domestic and financial history at this time.
