Election Fever as Pattaya ex-pats and Tourists follow the drama of the race to become the next President of the United States of America.

On Wednesday Morning here in Thailand, it was confirmed that Senator Barack Obama will become the 44th President of the Unites States of America. He is making history by becoming the first black US President. It is also thought that this will mark a major turning point in the history of the United States which will impact the rest of the world. Here in Pattaya, election fever dominated the entertainment venues and through the night and early morning, foreign residents and tourists were watching the events unfold live on TV. We conducted a mini-survey of foreign tourists and ex-pats on Tuesday Night and feelings were mixed when asked if they favored either Obama or Senator John McCain as the next President of the United States. Some American ex-pats confirmed to us that they placed their votes here in Thailand through the American Embassy. Whatever your political views, it is clear that changes are on the way, for better or worse.
